Restricting calories to the extreme doesn’t help you lose weight. More often than not, your body goes into ‘starvation mode’ and this can usually result in a slower metabolism, causing you to PUT on weight.

When Stacey Gittus first joined the 28 Day Weight Loss Challenge she found that she needed to eat MORE calories from good, healthy food.

As a result she lost an impressive 30kg AND she’s found it’s helped her tone her tummy!

‘I didn’t think it was possible to lose weight by eating more’

“When I joined the 28 Day Weight Loss Challenge I weighed 100kg,” Stacey admits. “I had a horrible diet and warped notions about food.

“I had previously lost weight using a restricted calorie intake and lots of exercise, but once I stopped, I put it all back on. I didn’t think it was possible to lose weight while consuming food, let alone a lot of food.”

Stacey says when she first joined the 28 Day Weight Loss Challenge she was still breastfeeding and expressing, and often skipped meals.

“I soon began having a Healthy Mummy Smoothie every day first thing to break the cycle of skipping breakfast,” she says.

Stacey admits she was unsure at first. She just couldn’t wrap her head around going from 1,000 calories a day to 2,200 calories a day and lose weight.

But, soon enough, she saw the weight start to ‘fall off’.

She says: “The bulk of my weight I lost just walking. The difference between August and now has come from joining the gym and adding more weights training in. I’m also loving the new exercises in the app!”

Did you know that the 28 Day Weight Loss Challenge has a heap of core workouts that are designed to tighten the tummy, reduce the belly fat and strengthen your core muscles?

Stacey’s top 3 tips for losing her belly weight:

1. Up your water intake

I make sure I drink a minimum of three litres of water a day to help flush out toxins.

2. Make sure you’re eating enough

Focusing on hitting my calorie intake and making sure they are cleaner food choices helps me lose weight and feel fuller for longer. It stops me reaching for takeaways!

3. Focus on your core when you exercise

I’ve also massively changed up my exercise and am focusing more on toning with weights and the Challenge exercises than cardio.

Thanks for these amazing tips, Stacey!
