Here at The Healthy Mummy, we completely understand the struggles we face as mums. This is why we are determined to help you be your best self like this amazing mum Jess Maree Micallef, read her story below.
No one knows this more than our amazing mum, Jess Maree Micallef. This is what she says. “Do you ever have those days, weeks, months where you think hmm what’s the point ?! You wouldn’t be human if you didn’t! I know I do… I get so caught up at times about not seeing many changes…but I try and be more positive than negative.
So times like this I go and find another old photo and compare to most recent photo and you know what it changes my thoughts again for the next few weeks, months until I feel negative again about myself and my body.”
Jess says that in “2013 before Bub VS 2018 one 4-year-old and a whole lot of stress being a family organiser and all the amazing things us mums do that runs us to the ground at times!”
“Flashback I can’t believe that was me…I was possibly pregnant at the time but it would have only been a few weeks so no excuse for a swollen or chubby face I just didn’t look after myself and ate myself silly because I was an emotional eater and went through quite a few issues and instead of dealing with it head on I ate and ate this didn’t help the problems and scars were still there.. no more will I let that happen. I stand up for me and others around me!”

The Healthy Mummy provides healthy, family-friendly recipes, meal plans, workouts, and daily support – all designed for mums like you. Jess says that she used some smoothies and free recipes and lost about 5kgs with The Healthy Mummy. She says that she can’t keep up with how many centimetres.
“I am also doing The Healthy Mummy 28 day weight loss challenge now too, so I expect to get down to my ultimate goal soon.”
Jess says that there are some obstacles she had to overcome. “I had to overcome changing how much I ate always ate more then I should or ate too little! Family support was tricky also having a Mediterranean background they always wanted me to eat what everyone else had.
I had to voice my opinion and say no I want my food and eventually they understood and helped me by making sure they always had a salad with no dressing for me etc.
Also learning to move my body as much as possible and exercise coming from a family who never did those things was a massive change but have grown to love it!
Changing to The Healthy Mummy was the best thing I ever did…my intermediate family found the changes okay as there were so many favourite dishes they could try and loved most of them.”
