Young mum of 2 Tyla once loved her Mcdonalds and coke, but since finding the Healthy Mummy has learnt all about portion control and healthy eating and has completely changed the way she views food and snacking. She has lost a whopping 30 kilos and is loving life.
“I was so uncomfortable and I was so embarrassed about the way I looked, now I can finally feel happy to leave the house again instead of dreading it!”
Mum swaps coke for Healthy Mummy Smoothies and loses over 30 kilos!
Mum Tyla from Perth, WA has been following The Healthy Mummy since February 2019 just after the birth of her second son Braxton. Not long after her first son Chayse was born in 2017, Tyla was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease (Hashimoto’s) and had severe hypothyroidism which was a big cause of her weight gain.
Knowing she had to make a change to lose the weight and improve the symptoms of her health issues and lifestyle, Tyla found The Healthy Mummy after googling breastfeeding friendly weight loss.
It didn’t take long for Tyla to see the results. In February 2019, she weighed 93kgs. By September that year, only 6 months later, she weighed 63.5 kgs passing her goal weight of 65 kgs. She is now 31 kilos lighter weighing 62 kgs.
She says, “People ask me how I lost it all so quickly. I used to be a big coke drinker and loved McDonald’s and chocolate. I completely cut them out and instead of starving myself all day and binge eating at night I started using the Healthy Mummy Smoothies and Healthy Mummy meals, which taught me a lot about portion control, and completely changed the way I snacked! “
While Tyla still takes medication for her health issues, it wasn’t until she started The Healthy Mummy and losing weight that she really noticed a difference in how she felt.
“Carrying all of the extra weight around I was so uncomfortable and I was so embarrassed about the way I looked. Now I can finally feel happy to leave the house again instead of dreading it!
How Tyla uses The 28 Day Weight Loss Challenge
“I use the Healthy Mummy app, I completed one challenge but after that, I have mainly used it to track calories and pick my own recipes. When I started I had a Healthy Mummy Smoothie for breakfast and lunch but now to maintain my weight loss I just have one every morning for breakfast.
I use the caramel smoothie mix, with almond milk and frozen banana blended in my NutriBullet. I have tried other flavours and combinations but I can’t get enough of this one!
I have followed the exercises from the app, but I mainly do long walks with the double pram for exercise, my New Years resolution has been to join a gym and I have my first class next week!
Joining the Facebook group also kept up Tyla’s motivation. She says, ” I scroll through and read posts every day, it’s always good to know you aren’t alone about how you feel or what you are going through! And to see the success of mums is a big motivation to keep going“
