Mum spends $35.96 on 35 meals and snacks – that’s around $1.03 per serving!
So many of our wonderful mummies SWEAR BY weekly meal prep for helping them stay on track and keep their portion sizes in control.
Elyce Cordy is one of these mums and she says she LOVES cooking and meal prepping each week, making a variety of healthy meals and snacks from our 28 Day Weight Loss Challenge.
This week, she’s made 35 meals and snacks and it only cost her $35.96 – that works out at $1.03 per serving. INCREDIBLE!

“Meal prep is a must for me or I end up standing in the cupboard and freezer all day picking at things that probably aren’t going to do me any favours,” says Elyce.
“If don’t meal plan and do one big shop I end up spending way to much with ‘little’ trips to the shop and I end up buying things I shouldn’t.”

Pear and Pecan Muffins x 15 serves
A delicious and easy to prepare muffin recipe. Having homemade snacks like this prepared ahead of time will help you stick to your healthy eating goals and will save you buying sweet treats at the supermarket.
These muffins work out at 213 calories per serve.

These bill balls will ensure you eat well but also help save you money too. These bliss balls contain dried cherries, dried dates, coconut and cocoa powder.

A budget friendly meal that is great to prepare ahead of time so you can just reheat and assemble when ready to serve.

Spicy Chicken and Corn Soup x 2 serves
Chilli and ginger are thermogenic ingredients that create heat in the body and in turn boost your metabolism.
This soup is easy to prepare and great if made in a large batch so you can store leftovers to enjoy another time. You can adjust levels of chilli used to suit your taste. This sou is 406 calories per serve.

Easy Chicken Nachos x 4 serves
These nachos are only 376 calories per serve and are so straight forward to make. You can swap out veggies depending on what you have left over for a healthy and easy meal for the family.

Elyce’s INCREDIBLE 22kg* weight loss story
Not only has Elyce lost an amazing 22kgs through the 28 Day Weight Loss Challenge and gained a whole heap of confidence.
She says, “I got sick and tired of looking unhappy and fat. I suffer from depression and having that amount of weight hanging off me was not helping my mental state. I did not like what was looking back at me in the mirror and always thought, ‘How could anyone else like that too?’”
Elyce reveals she used to waste money on takeaway, but now she eats what she likes – just healthier versions of it – and meal preps all of her meals and this helps her lose weight.
“I would say eat things that you enjoy and adjust them to make healthier meals. So swap fattier cuts of meat for leaner cuts, white rice, flour and sugar for brown,” she says.
“I replace cream and ice cream with Greek yoghurt and I replace cow’s milk for unsweetened almond milk.
“If you enjoy what you are eating and don’t feel like you are missing out, you will succeed with so much more ease.”
