Carrying stubborn fat around your middle can be a symptom of a larger health condition, such as polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), which is a hormonal disorder that can affect skin, hair, fertility issues and weight gain.

Despite the obstacles associated with PCOS, these six mums who suffer from the condition have managed to lose 146 kilograms between them.

They pushed through and lost an incredible amount of weight. Here are there incredible stories…

1. Libby

Libby reveals, “I have now lost 16kg* and have been a healthy weight for over 1.5 years for the first time ever!

“I understand so much more about my body, how to fuel it, and what it needs in order to perform optimally. I am more confident in myself, and love to dress in clothes that show off my new body, instead of hiding me,” she says.

Libby also credits smaller portions and meal prep for helping her cut down her tummy weight, as well as drinking more water.

2. Sascha

Sascha reveals she over ate when she was pregnant, then struggled to shift the extra weight after she gave birth due to her PCOS.

“The Healthy Mummy has changed my life. It pushed me to be more educated, it made me explore food on a deeper level and experiment, as well as exercise three times a week and work on my tummy and core,” Sascha said, as she has now lost 32kg!

3. Nikki

By following the 28 Day Weight Loss Challenge and having one to two smoothies a day, Nikki has lost over 24kg.

“I weighed over 83kg and was diagnosed with PCOS 15 years ago and I have tried every weight loss program there is out there, but without success,” she says.

Nikki now relishes in her success with the Healthy Mummy.

4. Sarah

Having always struggled to keep an eye on the scales, Sarah suffers with endometriosis as well as polycystic ovary syndrome.

“It was frustrating. I had to always keep an eye on what I was eating and doing, as my weight would balloon at times due to the PCOS and endometriosis,” she says.

Sarah has lost over 35kg and says she’s feeling better than ever due to the 28 Day Weight Loss Challenge.

“The Healthy Mummy keeps me on track and these days I don’t really have to think about keeping my weight in check, as the Challenge hub lets me know how many calories I have left and there are a heap of healthy recipes for me to make. It’s so easy!”

5. Sandra

At age 15, Sandra says she was overweight, unhealthy and unhappy.

“I had bad acne and was lucky to get my period twice a year. The causes of PCOS are relatively unknown, and 15 years ago it was still only a new concept,” she says.

Sandra has lost an incredible 22 kilograms by finding her own rhythm and doing what works best for HER.

“You need to find what works for you and your lifestyle. The Healthy Mummy became my foundation. I applied my research and changed my diet by tweaking the challenge meal plans to suit my needs,” reveals Sandra.

6. Emma

Finding out at 21 that she had PCOS, Emma managed to lose weight AND is now experiencing a much healthier pregnancy this time around.

She has lost 17kg having weighed 120kg at her heaviest.

“I fell in love with the 28 Day Weight Loss Challenge from the very start.” Emma says the easy family friendly meals mixed with the customisable meal plan and shopping list made eating healthy a breeze.

“To my delight and absolute shock, we were pregnant after my first cycle. I truly believe the healthy lifestyle I live – thanks to the challenge and smoothies – attributed to falling pregnant and quickly,” she said.

A good way to minimise some of these symptoms may be a detox.
