Kylie Spry has lost 30kg following the 28 Day Weight Loss Challenge and her energy levels are HIGHER than ever!

“As a family we generally ate pretty well before I started The Healthy Mummy, but probably just over-indulged too much and too often and was drinking through times of emotional stress,” she admits.

“I have so much more energy now and I make the time to look after my needs, and my family’s needs too.”

8 SIMPLE ways Kylie boosts her energy levels!

1. Sleep

Getting enough sleep is extremely important!  You should try to get 6-8 hours of sleep a night. Not always possible, I know. Especially if and when your babies and kiddies are not sleeping well.

Sleep and rest however is important for muscle recovery, mental alertness and overall good health. What’s more a good sleep can help you wake up feeling refreshed and motivated.

Setting a bedtime routine for yourself is just as important for you as it is for your kids! Try and set a bedtime and a wakeup time.

2. Better food

Fuelling your body (and mind) with fresh, healthy, unprocessed food is the BEST thing you could ever do for yourself.

Heavy, fatty, sugary, unhealthy meals might taste good at the time, but will leave you feeling tired and sluggish after you’ve eaten them. Not to mention what they do to your insides. I’ve managed to get my visceral fat level down from an extremely unhealthy level of 19 down to a very healthy 7.

My favourite things to pick myself up are bananas, apple with almond butter, boiled eggs or any kind of protein to keep you feeling full and build those muscles, and I love putting berries and spinach in my breakfast Healthy Mummy Smoothies!

3. Exercise

I’m a big believer in ‘ENERGY CREATES ENERGY’!  We don’t always feel like starting a workout or going to the gym, but never have I started a workout and gotten 10 minutes in and thought ‘I really don’t want to do this’.  I do a lot of HIIT/Cardio Boxing and I absolutely love it!

Once I’ve started exercising it always gives me more energy and I find that spark that keeps me going! And then when the workout is done you feel amazing for it and proud that you did it.

For more exercises check out The Healthy Mummy App.

4. Reduce stress

Not always easy to do, but doing your best to reduce outside stresses in your life are essential!

It’s taken me a long time to learn to let go of things I can’t control and just try and go with the flow of life!

There will always be times of stress in everyone’s life, it’s how you learn to react to it that counts! Since Mind, Body, Breathe exercises came out in The Healthy Mummy App, I’ve been using them at least once a week. I just to try and ‘chill’ and ‘calm’ the thoughts running around in my head and it just gives me that little bit of a clearer mind to realign my focus.

And when you don’t feel stressed you find your energy levels are up!

5. Drinking plenty of water

We all know we need to keep hydrated, it’s essential!  DRINK, DRINK, DRINK!  I drink about 3 litres a day, including any herbal teas I might have.

If you’re not getting in enough water you may find you become dehydrated, which means headaches and lethargy. Certainly not going to give you the energy you need if you don’t have enough water!

6. Super Greens

7. Music

Music is a must! I like to listen to music on my way to bootcamp to pump me up ready for the session. It gives a great atmosphere and energy and let’s face it, no-one wants to listen to themselves breathing heavily!

8. Make yourself a priority

This is so important! Think of the old saying ‘You can’t look after everyone else if you don’t look after yourself’.

With my youngest starting school it was time for me!  I needed to make myself a priority so that I could be the happy and healthy mum and wife I knew that I could be!

Since joining the 28 Day Weight Loss Challenge and losing 30kg, I feel like I have created this whole new person.
