Exercise doesn’t have to be in the gym

Not being a fan of gyms, Caren needs exercise to be fun to stay motivated while also being challenging, “I like it to teach me new skills and give me a mental escape- not just a physical workout.”

Proving that you don’t have to stick to just one exercise, dread it and then slog it out, Caren currently figure skates, takes pole dancing classes (which is both an amazing workout and confidence booster), joined a local social running group.

“My biggest piece of advice exercise wise is try as many different forms as possible to find the thing that you love- the sport that will have you jumping out of bed at 5 am so you don’t have to ‘try to be motivated’ you will be! For you it could be netball, indoor soccer, boxing or boot camp!”

She also recently started a circus class (aerial equipment), attends a Mums walking group twice a week and is training for her first half marathon at the end of the month.
