Mum shares a hilarious list of things ‘normal mums’ do – and it’s scarily accurate!

We all have the best intentions when it comes to raising our little ones. We envisioned before we became a parent that we would always be calm, make sure our children were perfectly dressed and not forget things like dummies or socks for our children while we were out and about.

At the end of the day we are all trying to do our best – and that’s all that matters – but let’s face it, things don’t always go to plan!

Tiredness takes over and we often look for shortcuts to make the long days more tolerable, as much as we love our kids.

Mummy blogger and mum-of-three Amy Weatherly has shared a funny list of things ‘normal mums do’. And we must admit, we’re guilty of pretty much all of them – especially number 21!

Here are some of Amy’s gems about the things ‘normal mum’ do:

1. If you joined the gym for the childcare…

2. If you feel like you say “don’t pick your nose” more than “I love you,” or anything else for that matter…

3. If you’ve ever used a frozen burrito as an ice pack…

4. If you asked if they could install a partition in your car like taxi cab drivers use…

5. If you have to clean the toys out of your tub before you use it…

6. If you lost your keys three times in two days…

7. If the last thing you read all the way through was a list of reviews on a new sippy cup…

8. If you know how to remove a foreign object lodged in a child’s nose…

9. If you have anywhere between 5-10 different piles of laundry…

10. If crumbs fall out of your bra when you take it off…

11. If you only own one bra that fits…

12. If your kids wonder where you’re going just because you put on makeup…

13. If you’ve ever put on a face mask and then realised you had to be somewhere right that second, so you just went as you are…

14. If the coolest song you know right now is the theme to “Paw Patrol”…

15. If you caught your child splashing the washcloth you use to clean your face in the toilet…

16. If the doctor has ever been concerned that your child has an unusual rash, but then it turns out their brother had just drawn on them with a red marker…

17. If you’ve ever bought cookies, taken them out of their container, put them on a platter and passed them off as homemade…

18. If Amazon is your best friend…

19. If you’ve ever helped your child look for a toy you actually threw away a couple of days ago…

20. If you only have half of your nails painted and they’re all different colours because your daughter got bored half-way through…

21. If you’ve ever yelled “STOP YELLING” at the top of your lungs…

22. If one of your hobbies includes sitting alone in your car alone after you drop the kids off somewhere…

23. If half of the numbers stored in your phone are named something like “Carter’s mom”…

24. If your back hurts because your child climbed in your bed and kicked you in the kidneys all night long…

TOO FUNNY! Thank you so much for giving us permission to share this list, Amy.
