Mum-of-three loses 20kg AND boosts milk supply by upping her calories
This mum-of-three was hesitant at first to consume the recommended 2,300 calories per day while breastfeeding her second baby. After all, she was always under the impression that less calories equaled more weight loss.
However, Jessica now says, “How wrong I was!”
This is Jessica’s breastfeeding story.
Mum-of-three loses 20kgs AND boosts milk supply by
“After the birth of my first child, I limited myself to 1200-1500 calories a day thinking that was the right way to drop the weight I had gained during pregnancy,” she says.
“I was breastfeeding and my supply would dip constantly, so then I would panic and binge on fatty foods until I had an over supply, before starving myself again.”
It was an unhealthy, vicious cycle.
“I then fell pregnant again when my son was 9 months old, and my milk dried up almost immediately, meaning our breastfeeding journey was over.”
Finding The Healthy Mummy
“I started drinking the Healthy Mummy smoothies and 28 Day Weight Loss Challenges the week after my second child was born.
“I lost 20kgs* in six months while always maintaining a fantastic milk supply.”

How The Healthy Mummy Smoothies helped with breastfeeding
“Instead of skipping breakfast like I did with my son, I would have a Healthy Mummy smoothie every morning. With a newborn and an 18 month old, the smoothies made it easy to have a quick nutritious meal (one handed) while feeding or toddler wrangling.
“Whenever bub was having a growth spurt I’d have a snack smoothie too to boost my supply even more and I definitely noticed the results.
“I ate my recommended calories with the delicious Challenge recipes and also started gentle walking once a day. I felt so much healthier, my milk supply was consistent and the weight kept coming off.”

“When my daughter was 12 months old, I fell pregnant with my third baby. I switched over to the Healthy Mummy Pregnancy Smoothies and continued eating the Challenge meals, just increasing my calories to make sure I was eating enough to nourish both babies.”
Breastfeeding during pregnancy!
“I was able to breastfeed my daughter until she was 16 months and chose to self wean. I 100 per cent credit the Healthy Mummy recipes and smoothies for this and I have complete faith that once this baby is born, the smoothies and Challenges will help me lose weight while maintaining a healthy milk supply.“
