Jessie Patton’s transformation and weight loss journey has been absolutely SPECTACULAR so far!
Jessie says she was inspired to lose weight not only to become fitter and more active for her son, but also to improve her mental health.
‘I had no self-esteem and no self-worth’
Jessie says before she found The Healthy Mummy she was short of breath and in pain a lot of the time.
“I was morbidly obese, short of breath on exertion, in pain and functionally struggling,” she says.
“My sleep quality was awful, my social life was non-existent, my health was suffering. No self-esteem, no self-worth. My mental health was at its lowest points. I felt like a complete failure.”
Jessie admits she was making poor food choices and was drinking as much as 3 cans (375ml) of Pepsi Max a day – that works out at 1.125 litres a day.
“I was also addicted to Pepsi Max and binge eating on high carb foods, rarely fuelling my body with good nutritious foods,” she says.
“I have struggled with my weight since I was 16 years old and at the age of 24 after I gave birth to my baby, I was at my heaviest at 161.9kg and completely miserable.”
Jessie says when her son was nearly a year old, she decided she wanted to become a better role model to him by eating healthily and being more activity.
She says: “I met with my local Healthy Mummy Consultant at the beginning of the year and began drinking The Healthy Mummy Smoothies for breakfast, then in May I joined the 28 Day Weight Loss Challenge.”
Jessie now saves over $1,000 a year
The mum-of-one reveals she took it slow at first, slowly becoming more active and eating regular healthy recipes from the 28 Day Weight Loss Challenge, as well as drinking Healthy Mummy Smoothies instead of the fizzy drinks.
Jessie says she used to spend 50 cents on Pepsi Max cans each day, and both she and her hubby were drinking 3 cans a day too, so if you add it up it works out to be over $1,000 a year on just fizzy drinks!
“It’s crazy to think how much I was spending on fizzy drinks!” she says. “Both my hubby and I have quit the fizzy drinks now and we’re saving a heap of money.”
What’s more, while diet-soft drinks contain less calories than regular soft drink, some research actually suggests that diet soft drinks may not only prevent weight loss, but may actually make you put on the kilos.

Jessie says she no longer feels lethargic and unmotivated, as she has improved her overall fitness.
“Exercise began helping me manage my mental health and my improved fitness also helped with my strength and stamina. Now I love the Tabata workouts on the App,” she says.

Jessie reveals she also enjoys making meals and doesn’t have takeaway at all these days.
“I enjoy cooking and have discovered how delicious healthy wholesome food can be. I’ve also given up Pepsi Max and only drink water and the Smoothies. I’ve lost 20kg in over eight months and gone down from a size 26-28 to a size 20-22,” she says.
“I still have 50kg to go. But I’m feeling better within myself, improving my social life and becoming a great influence on my son and husband.”
