Meagan has lost 15 kilos and says she is a completely different person both mentally and physically thanks to the Healthy Mummy 28 Day Weight Loss Challenge.
“Before I started my weight loss journey I was incredibly sad, I hated looking at my body. I wore the baggiest clothes and used to crop all photos of me that showed how big I was.”

Meagan Joy, 27, from Ballarat Victoria is a mum of two children aged 6 and 3. She has been following Healthy Mummy for 2 years and has lost a total of 15 kilos in roughly 9-10 months.
Meagan shares, “I am a completely different person both mentally and physically. Before I started my weight loss journey. I was incredibly sad I hated looking at my body. I wore the baggiest clothes and used to crop all photos of me that showed how big I was.
“I have hypothyroidism so unfortunately, I gain weight very quickly. I was tired, lazy and completely unmotivated. I took some before photos and could not believe how I looked. The most shocking thing was how big my fat rolls were on my back.
“Right then and there I said to myself. Right, that is it. I can not keep being sad and unmotivated. I have to get fit and healthy for myself and for my children. I want them to grow up knowing that it is so important to be healthy.”
More energy to do the things she loves
Meagan says since losing 15 kilos she has so much more energy.
“I have lowered my thyroid medication which is amazing. I can run around with my kids without getting tired quickly. My mental health is completely different. I am no longer sad for myself. I am the happiest I have ever been in my life. I am now an incredibly positive person. I am very driven in anything I do. And I now want to always try and better myself.
“I am 100% more confident. I am able to wear things I’ve always wanted to wear. I am incredibly happy in myself and my life. I have so much dedication for my lifestyle now that it seems like second nature to me.”

Meagan’s favourite smoothie is definitely vanilla, because it is completely versatile.
Her favourite Healthy Mummy recipes are hearty meals like One-pot lasagne or the Sweet potato pie or the Pizzas. She also loves the Pad Thai recipe.
Meagan’s tips for success
“Remember what brought you to where you are today. Always strive to better yourself. And don’t be so hard on yourself. If you put too much effort into perfection you will lose your strive and motivation. Start with small goals and work your way up.”
Meagan’s tips for mums who feel like giving up
Meagan says it is important to look back at that photo that made you want to change. Or that outfit you really want to fit into.
“Remember where you have come from and how far you have come. Remember how good it feels after you finish that workout you really didn’t want to do. It’s all worth it. Every little thing.”
