Stacey Hufnagel Young is a mum-of-three. She is currently on her third 28 Day Weight Loss Challenge and has lost 9.5kg and 39cm.

Her weight loss journey began at the beginning of January and already she’s feeling better within herself and less bloated.

“I can feel that my posture is so much better, my back isn’t as sore as usual, I’m a little more flexible than I thought,” she says.

“I am less bloated in my stomach and the person I see in the mirror I am beginning to be happier with. I exercise almost every day now too!”

In fact, it was photographs on New Years’ Eve that sparked Stacey to make a change.

“I hadn’t liked the way I seen myself in the mirror or in photos for a while now. On New Years’ Eve my daughter took a few photos of my family and friends at home celebrating my birthday,” she says.

“When I looked at the photos I instantly deleted so many of them as I so upset at how big I looked.

“I already new I wanted to sign up to The Healthy Mummy to make a change and this really made me want to work for it even more.”

What Stacey eats on a typical day

Breakfast: Tummy smoothies

Lunch: Leftover dinner

Dinner: Healthy Mummy meal

Snacks: Healthy Mummy snack

Exercise: HIIT workouts or 30 minute walk

“I have tried quite a few different dinners and my family now has a few favourites.

“We love the Slow Cooker Asian Chicken, Sticky Chicken Drumsticks, Stovetop Lasagne, Mexican Chicken Pie and on the weekend the pita bread pizzaz, nachos or the burgers.

“We all love chocolate too so the Healthy Weet-Bix Slice, Healthy Coconut Brownies and Chocolate Chip Cookie Tart are a few favourites that the whole family love and don’t last too long in the fridge.”

All of these recipes can be found on The Healthy Mummy app.

Stacey’s 3 tips for success

1. Meal prep your favourite snacks or meals once you find out what they are to help stay on track.

2. Numbers aren’t everything. As long as you feel better within your body or the way you see yourself in the mirror. Take that win!

3. Don’t be so hard on yourself. Anything is better than nothing.

“I was one of those mums that always say ‘I will start my diet next week’. Don’t wait! Start now! It’s not a diet but a new lifestyle my my family and myself.

“I really want to continue this journey to be a healthier version of myself and for my family.”
