These 6 mums teamed up to make 150 meals for charity!

6 mums, 150 Healthy Mummy meals, 6 hours and 2 charities.

Brooke Jones, Laura Davey, Anna-lea Paulson, Julz Brown, Skye Keen and Felicity Crocker, who are all 28 Day Weight Loss Challenge members, met through The Healthy Mummy in Port Macquarie. And they decided to use their meal prep skills to help others in need.

“We made 150 Healthy Mummy meals to donate to two of our local charities,” says Brooke.

150 meals later…

Brooke, who is the consultant for the Port Macqaurie Healthy Mummy group, said they all have so much fun meal prepping together and that most of the ingredients for the haul were donated.

The fruit and vegetables were donated by their local growers market, meats from Coppy’s Butcher Block, and Lake Innes Coles donated a $20 voucher. One of the charities, 4Life Care shop, donated some pantry staple ingredients, and Timbertown IGA staff donated the containers!

Laura and Brooke then contributed to buying extra ingredients that were needed, which ended up being around $30.

“We made 6 meals and 20 to 25 of each meal. We split them evenly donating 60 meals to each charity and the reamaining meals were split between us ladies who cooked,” says Brooke.

6 hours and some fun later, and the two nominated charities were issued with their Healthy Mummy meals!

4Life Care are a charity who work with locals who need help with food packs and the Port Macquarie Women and Children’s Refuge help women and children escape from domestic violence and other family issues.
