Before this mum lost 46kg, she reveals she wasn’t able to keep up with her kids. She reveals she struggled running around with them, playing at the park together, getting into the pool.

Dusty Skye says she saw The Healthy Mummy Facebook group and witnessed all the mums trying to get healthy and saw their amazing results so wanted to jump straight in.

The mum is happy she signed up, as she’s now lost 46kg and 140cm!

Everyone has their own story

Just before Christmas, Dusty had a terrible car accident and instead of completely falling off her journey, she threw all her emotions on to The Healthy Mummy pages to find support.

“I know I’m not alone and that we are all fighting our own battles and thanks to The Healthy Mummy, I have the right tools to be able to control one thing in my life” she says.

Dusty’s goal weight is to reach 75kg, and she hopes to achieve this goal by the end of the year. However, her biggest goal is to love herself.

I have been over weight my whole life, and been bullied as a child and a teen by fellow students and with my family having mental health problems, loving myself has always seemed impossible,” she reveals.

Meal prepping snacks mainly saves Dusty buying junk and reaching for naughty foods and saves her a bit of money too.

Dusty says, “Selecting recipes is so easy, I’m in love with the app. I usually try and aim for recipes based around the same main ingredients which makes thing easier too!

“I try and prep enough snacks for just over a week incase I don’t feel like cooking the first few days of the next week.”

Mexican lasagne, Chorizo and spanish riceCoconut weetbix slice, and Raw peanutbutter bars are some of Dusty’s go-to Healthy Mummy recipes

A great hit with the family, Dusty says, “My kids and partner love love LOVE everything I cook and will complain if I did try to bring junk to the dinner table.

“My children love doing the Challenge exercises with me and it’s apart of our morning and afternoon routines.” A far cry from not even being able to run around with them at the park!

Finding a rhythm

Routine, this is what Dusty thinks is the key to staying motivated.

“Get yourself into a routine of some small changes. Keep it simple, don’t overwhelm yourself, you’re only human,” she says.

Always feeling better after a walk, Dusty makes sure she goes walking everyday! There’s nothing better for the soul than some fresh air.

When the going gets tough, Dusty likes to go back and compare her before photos or check her measurements and see just how far she has come.

Dusty says, “All the mamas on The Healthy Mummy support pages are there when you need them.”
