Healthy And Kid Friendly Peanut Butter And Jam Hearts

Healthy Mummy 28 Day Challenge member Rae Willingham has shared her cute recipe for Peanut Butter and Jam Hearts.

The kids will love to help you knead the dough, roll it out, and cut it into cute shapes.

All you need to do is decide what topping to put on there. Rae loves using peanut butter with our Chia Berry Jam but you could also make them savoury by using toppings such as ham and grated cheese.

Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 160C.
  2. Line baking tray.
  3. Mix the flour with yoghurt.
  4. Add vanilla bean paste, coconut sugar and a good sprinkling of cinnamon. Mix until it resembles a dough (you may need to add more flour depending on the consistency of the yoghurt used)
  5. Turn onto a floured surface and knead until smooth.
  6. Roll out to a 2cm thickness and use a cutter to make the biscuit shapes. We used hearts because who doesn't want to be reminded of self love when eating good food!
  7. Place onto tray and bake in preheated oven for 10 minutes.
  8. Remove from oven, increase oven temperature to 180C and top with your topping of choice. Peanut butter and jam is my all time fave and the Healthy Mummy chia berry jam is a great low sugar recipe which you could use!
  9. Bake for an additional 15 minutes and then allow to cool.
