8 reasons mums need to take a VACATION without their kids
Pack your bags, mamma! You deserve a vacation and you should NOT feel guilty about leaving the kids behind.
When you’re a mother it’s so easy to feel guilty about taking time for yourself but actually EVERYONE in the household is going to benefit if you go on a ‘momcation’, aka solo holiday.
8 reasons why mums NEED a childless vacation
1. You need to rest before you burn out
Being a mum is a full-time job, even if you have a full-time or part-time job you probably still spend most of the day worrying about your little ones.
Everyone deserves a day off from work, and that includes from parenting.
2. You’ll be more appreciated when you return
Leaving the kids at home with dad is great for everyone. Not only will your partner appreciate ALL that you do but the kids will also benefit from the break away as well.
3. Bonds will be stronger
Whether you leave the children with your partner, grandparent or aunt, it will be great to give your little ones the chance to bond better with their dad or other family members.
4. You’ll remember who you are
It’s easy to become lost in parenting, it’s a very consuming role. By having some time away you’ll be able to finish that book you’ve wanted to or complete that series on Netflix without being interrupted.
5. It will help you reconnect
If you go away on a girlie trip with friends or with your partner, it’s a great way to help you reconnect with people that may have taken a backseat for a little while while.
6. It will give you a much-needed energy burst
It’s always good to reset and you will no longer feel burnt out, which is important for your health.
Plus, having a few days of uninterrupted sleep will also help you come back feel of energy. Which is exactly what we need when we have demanding children!
7. You’ll get great perspective
If you’ve been worrying about something trivial, some time away will help you realise that silly little thing that have been niggling at you actually aren’t such a big deal after all.
8. Your kids will grow
Time apart isn’t always a bad thing. If you make it a staple thing you do for yourself every once in a while, then your children will quickly realise that mum also needs time for herself, too.
You’ll miss each other when you’re apart, but it will be so lovely when you return home.
