Carissa Hanson has been on a weight loss journey for the past 14 months and in total lost 36 kilos. While she had some weight success, five months ago Carissa signed up to the 28 Day Weight Loss Challenge and lost almost 9 kilos!

Previously diagnosed with a fatty liver, Carissa has all but overcome the condition and her and her partner and now focussed on trying to start a family.

About Carissa

Carissa admits to LOVING her Ice coffee, but has managed to overcome a fatty liver by significantly cutting down her sugar intake.

She says, “Have gone down from 750ml everyday to 509ml every few days or have oak protein drink instead.”

For the past 5 months, Carissa is only eating meals from the Healthy Mummy App and has gone down from a size 24/22 to a size 20/18 and dropped 8.5 kilos.

Carissa shares “I’ve been feeling better more mentally and physically.”

What Carissa’s eats in a day

Breakfast: Chorizo and egg scramble or scrambled eggs with chorizo
Snack: Weetbix balls, Lamington bliss balls
Lunch: Gluten free chicken Caesar salad or Healthy Mummy leftovers from night before
Dinner: Creamy Bacon and Mushroom Ravioli, Creamy Chicken Pasta Bake (pictured), Chorizo and Chicken pasta or a new Healthy Mummy meal

Carissa loves the ease and convenience of the recipes and meals in the Health Mummy App.

“My favorite meals would be Creamy Bacon and Mushroom Ravioli, Chorizo and egg scramble, Bliss balls, Chorizo and Chicken pasta, Spanish rice and Chorizo, Cheesy rocket eggs.”

Carissa’s 3 Tips for Success

  1. Take it a meal at a time
  2. Be consistent and just walk even if it’s to the corner and back as it all adds up in the end
  3. Up your protein with each meal and don’t fear carbs as our bodies need it for fuel.
