‘Mentally, I am totally in control right now and loving it’ says mum who’s lost 14 kgs and 3 dress sizes

Seeing pictures of her wedding day was the final straw for mum Kelly to actually get serious about losing weight. Along with some medical problems, she knew it was her time to take back control of her lifestyle to improve her health.

Since following the Healthy Mummy program for 16 months she has not only lost 14 kilos and dropped 3 dress sizes, she is physically seeing real changes to her health and is mentally feeling back in control, and loving the skin she’s in.

Kelly’s Weight Loss Journey

Kelly Craven is 32 and lives in Laurieton NSW. She is mum to three children aged 12, 4 and 1.

There were two defining moments for Kelly when she knew she needed to do something about her weight.

Kelly shares “The first was getting the diagnosis of nonalcoholic fatty liver. I was like ok this is serious I need to lose weight and get it under control.“

Despite the diagnosis, Kelly struggled to stay on track with losing weight and felt she just wasn’t making any progress.

“It wasn’t until I saw how big I was in my wedding photos that’s when I was like nope no more kidding around. It’s time to get absolutely serious about it. I’m doing this once and for all. I need to try harder. It has to be done.”

Kelly’s Weight Loss Results

Kelly signed up to the Healthy Mummy’s 28 Day Weight Loss Challenge and hasn’t looked back. She’s lost 14kgs and is down three dress sizes. Not only that, Kelly has noticed huge improvements with her overall health.

“It’s been 2 months since I’ve had any kind of back pain. I no longer sink in my mattress. I no longer suffer restless leg. I no longer have hip pain. I no longer slouch when I walk. I no longer have constant red or sore feet and my back no longer feels heavy weighted.”

“Physically, I’m now noticing all of these changes to my appearance – I am looking smaller and feeling so much lighter, clothes are big and baggy looking on me now and fitting into smaller sizes.”

“I can actually breathe properly without that heavy chest feeling.”

Whilst she is enjoying all the physical changes, Kelly is loving how strong mentally she is feeling.

“Mentally, I am totally in control right now and loving it. I’m loving myself and the skin I’m in whilst making these changes. My moods are more mellow and I have less brain fog and I am sleeping a lot better at night.”

Kelly’s 3 tips for success

  • Be committed. (Stay motivated)
  • Think positive. (It’s all about the positive mindset!)
  • Learn from your journey. (Allow yourself to celebrate those small victories because the more you celebrate them, the more you will want to keep going.)

“My advice is not to throw yourself in the deep end straight away otherwise it can be quite overwhelming for you and your journey. Take your time and focus on eating healthy, portion control, exercise (even if it’s 3 days out of the week) but most importantly make sure you’re staying hydrated and drink water! If you slip up that’s ok. Enjoy it as tomorrow is a new day. Stay motivated and stay dedicated. The body achieves what the mind believes.”
