Shantelle Brumfield reveals her weight has yo-yoed over the last 10 years but after discovering The Healthy Mummy she has dropped 20kg.

Better still, her husband has also lost 15kg because of her healthier lifestyle!

“I no longer hide from the mirror and I no long wear  huge baggy clothes to hide my body,” she says.

Mum-of-five Shantelle says she has suffered with ankle problems since 2018 and that’s why her weight has been up and down.

“When I was just about to have my last baby, I was 130kg and my body ached.  It was then I decided I needed to get back to a fit and healthy weight so that I can play with my kids and chase after them,” she says.

“I started with The Healthy Mummy making the free recipes and some smoothies in May 2021.

“Then as I started losing weight and getting my motivation back, so I become a member of the 28 Day Weight Loss Challenge, and now my  family and I are following it strictly. 

“My husband has lost 15kg and I have lost 20kg in 6 months. Health wise, I feel better in myself  my  body aches less, I feel less tired.”

Shantelle’s day on a plate

Breakfast: Healthy Mummy smoothie.  Normally with chocolate, banana, ice, spinach, almond milk and peanut butter.

Morning tea: Fruit

Lunch: I mix it up between left over dinners, baked potato, the sweet potato and pumpkin soup, hidden veg sausage rolls.

Afternoon snack:  Normally a choc brownie cookie, Weet-Bix slice, Hidden Veg Sausage Roll or rice cakes with peanut butter and banana.

Dinner: My fave would be curried sausages and Stove Top Lasagne.

Dessert: Panna cotta or hot chocolate.

Workouts: Dance workouts with Jade.

“Other advice would be to remember there’s no quick fix.  Stay off the scales and go by how you feel. 

“Remember not to punish yourself for a treat meal here and there.  Less guilty feelings make it a lifestyle not a diet.”
