5 Budget Cooking Tips To Make the Most of your Pantry Foods!

1st Tip – Join the 28 Day Weight Loss Challenge and access HEAPS of budget-friendly and healthy snacks, meals and desserts. We’ve designed recipes that are low-calorie and high in nutrients. Look for old challenges that have the theme 5 Main Ingredients (click here to learn how to customise your meal plan!). Because these challenges contain recipes that use common staples, they keep your shopping list shorter, so you can save money!

2nd Tip – Store your snacks and leftovers properly! Make sure to use quality air-tight containers to keep your food fresher for longer. The longer it lasts, the less you will need to spend to replace it.

3rd Tip – Bulk prep snacks that can be stored in the fridge (or freezer if the recipe permits!) This way, you always have healthy snacks ready to go throughout the week. These Sticky Hazelnut Fudge Bits are perfect!

4th Tip – Double up! In the Healthy Mummy App, you can search recipes by ingredients you already have! Pick out lunch and dinner or a snack and meal that call for similar ingredients.

5th Tip – Prioritise fresh produce. Base your meal around the fresh produce you have on hand, and use long-life pantry staples to support it. Fresh produce goes bad more quickly, which leads to wasted food and wasted money. It’s the simple things that add up!
