Try these simple burgers for a budget friendly family meal. Use any mince that you have to hand.

Turkey mince is often cheaper than beef or chicken mince and is a healthy, lean protein.

If avocados are expensive at your local shops spread the roll with some cottage cheese, sour cream, or natural yoghurt.

Instructions
  1. Combine the turkey mince, oats, herbs, pepper and grated carrot. Use a spoon or your hands to combine the mixture well.
  2. Shape into a patty per serve, place on a plate, cover and let rest in the fridge for 30 minutes
  3. Heat a non-stick fry pan over a low-medium heat and add the oil. Slice the onion into rounds and place in the pan, using a wooden spoon to stir occasionally. Cook for 8-10 minutes until soft and caramelised. Remove from the pan and set aside.
