We compare the prices of back-to-school snacks to save you time and MONEY!

A few years ago The Healthy Mummy started doing a bit of a shopping experiment to see how buying the same items from leading supermarket chains compared in price and availability. We have done it once AGAIN to help save you time and money, but slightly different this time.

We decided to help you get ready for the Back to School lunches and compare some of the most popular lunch box snacks and where the best place to shop is.

Cost of living struggle

Cost of living prices are knocking us all for 6 lately. The average cost of a weekly grocery shop is $200 with some families spending up to $350 a week on their food bill. That’s a huge chunk of funds.

We seem to be paying more for everything, besides the weekly shop, there are also increases to power bills, fuel to fill the car and even swimming lessons. Now to top it off we are going to be struggling with the costs of new uniforms and books as school heads back. That’s exactly why we decided to try and make things a bit easier and focus on lunch foods in our latest price comparison shop.

Yet again ALDI will never be beaten for the best budget shop saving over $50 compared to Woolworths prices and $30 compared to Coles! In saying that 3 items were not available from Aldi but there is no doubt they are the clear winner and on a budget you could make some small changes to your shopping list when at Aldi if some items are not available, they do have plenty of bargains to choose from!

While we do love to support local grocers and encourage you to shop around for the best prices, if you are looking to do a quick one-stop shop then Aldi is the place to go.
