We love meal prepping at The Healthy Mummy as we believe that it supports healthy eating, a healthy lifestyle and healthy weight loss. This is why we have made life easier for you with our 28 Day Weight Loss Challenge where you will find a range of recipes that are perfect for prepping beforehand.

However, sometimes meal prepping does not go that smoothly and can result in complete kitchen disaster, despite the best intentions!

This happened to our lovely mums, whose finished products for various reasons, didn’t end up being quite the finished product they were hoping for.

Kristin McLean’s Nutella Bliss Balls tasted better than they looked

Kristin says that she was just making the balls and had all the ingredients in the food processor. She says that they looked a bit dry, so she added more water as per the recipe. “I think I added a bit too much water because the mixture was mush and wouldn’t roll so I just had to put blobs of the mixture on the plate and put it in the fridge in the hope it hardened a little.”

“It didn’t harden at all but they were still nice. It was my first time making them so I’m not sure if they taste any different when made properly. You could taste the dates though.”  Kristin says they might have been much worse if they were inedible!

Sarah Brown’s Baked Sweet Potato with Ricotta became deliciously caramelised

Sarah tried her hand at the Baked Sweet Potato recipe from The Healthy Mummy 28 Day Weight Loss Challenge recipe hub. She says although it doesn’t look like it should in the recipe, she thought it still tasted great. “I really loved it… nothing tastes better than caramelised burnt sweet potato.”

Even The Healthy Mummy founder had her own fail with Baked Custard Pie served off the floor

Rhian-pear fail

That’s right, even The Healthy Mummy founder Rhian has a failed recipe now and then but she didn’t let it go to waste.

“Devo! Was practising the baked pear custard pie recipe as I was going on TV to cook it live and I took it out of the oven and it looked and smelled delicious – then I dropped it! Still tastes good though!’

Well done lovely ladies on your attempts and for not giving up!
