Swap meat with these 5 Christmas ingredients

Tofu

Swap the Christmas turkey with tofu! Tofu is so versatile you can virtually turn any meat recipes into vegetarian one with tofu. Tofu can be baked, fried and even scrambled. Serve with salad and potatoes and you’ve got yourself a Christmas meal!

Sweet potato

Sweet potato is a great carb and is packed full of vitamins, and minerals. 80g of sweet potato counts towards 1 of your 5-a-day and you can easily swap out a heavy red meat with sweet potato and still feel completely satisfied. Stuff your sweet potato with more roasted vegetables and made a yummy cranberry sauce!

Lentils

Brown, red, green, lentils are so versatile and can be made into vertically any recipe to replace meat. Lentils have a meat-like taste to them so using them as a stuffing is also a great idea!

Haloumi

Use the salty cheese as a meat replacement and make halloumi and vegetable skewers. Low in carbs and high in calcium, halloumi is a good replacement of meat for a Christmas feast!

Nuts

Sounds odd but a nut roast is just as good as a roast chicken! A savoury meat-free loaf, nut roasts are the perfect main dish for your Christmas.
