Healthy Mummy Melissa Shares Her Experience With The Keto Meal Plan

“Recently, I decided to try the NEW Healthy Mummy’s KETO meal plans. I know there is a lot of hype around doing keto, but I really wanted to try it myself so I would be able to comment or give advice on it. I’m currently on week 7 of keto but had 1 week off due to a holiday.”“Keto is like starting a whole new journey, there is a lot to learn, and there are also a lot of restrictions.”“I did struggle for the first 2 weeks, as I wanted to go full steam ahead, when I probably should have researched more about the sort of foods/ingredients I should eat on this plan.”“Taking it slow would have been the best approach, but in saying that, I did see results pretty quickly and soon enough, I found my way into it. By weeks 3 and 4, I was pretty confident to try new keto friendly recipes.”
“The thing to know about keto is that you are limited to a certain number of carbs and sugar, so you really need to be tracking your macros, rather than just guessing.”
“For it to work properly you have to track everything you eat! This does make it hard to eat out, as you are so restricted to what you can eat.”
“Luckily, these days, most restaurants are great for building your own meals or offering healthy alternatives!”
“Alongside keto, I was also exercising 5 days a week, doing mostly weighted, HIIT workouts.”

“I had dropped about 3kg by this stage which was massive for me, as I was really struggling to make the scales move down again. I was really just maintaining the weight that I had lost.”
“Although I’m not so focused on the scales, it was nice to see some movement and hearing it from others was awesome as well.”
“I’ve decided to continue it for now as I’m loving the learning process and I believe my body is adapting well.”
“It’s also a great way to omit certain foods that you know you shouldn’t have, so for myself, I find that it does stop me from overindulging on sugars and carbs.”
“Another benefit to keto is that I’m eating more protein and veggies, hence a healthier diet.”
