This mum was desperate to shed her post baby weight, so after some searching online she stumbled across The Healthy Mummy!

Chloe had great results instantly, losing 26kg until a car accident meant that exercise was put to a stop and this led to her losing momentum.

“I put the weight back on plus more. Then after the birth of my little girl in 2015 I signed up to my first 28 Day Weight Loss Challenge in July 2015 and haven’t looked back,” she says.

When Chloe first started she was 133kg and is now working on being toned, healthy and strong. She reveals has’t weighed herself since August as she decided to ditch the scales but at her last weigh in she had lost 42kg and over 160cm from her body!

Overcoming battles

Chloe’s says she knew she needed to make a change when her then 6 year old (in 2013) innocently made a comment to her about her weight.

“He called me fat and I knew that my health was so much more than just my own physical health, it was also about the example I set for my kids and how they view living a healthy lifestyle for themselves,” she says.

“Him saying this to be me brought my inner feelings to the surface and I was sick of being judged by other people for my size and not for who I was in the inside, for feeling self-conscious within my self and losing confidence and a passion for life.”

What has empowered Chloe to keep going is the abundance of support and tools provided by The Healthy Mummy community and program, her partner and kids.

“Also having experienced what it feels like to ‘give up’ after my car accident I knows I never wanted to feel like that again and I have fought hard. I used those feelings as a reminder to keep me motivated,” says Chloe.

Emotional eating is a HUGE obstacle for Chloe.

“I have always used food as a comfort since I was 8 years old and that is something I have taken control over,” she says.

“It was really hard at first but following the 28 Day Weight Loss Challenges has finally given me a healthy relationship with food and helped me see it as fuelling my body and not using it as an emotional crutch.”

Celebrating 3 years being on the 28 Day Weight Loss Challenges in July this year, Chloe has a goal to be a size 12, using her wedding day in October as her deadline and motivation!

Shopping changes

Chloe now spends $150 a week for her grocery shopping for her family of six, before she was spending $250-$300 with one less mouth to feed!

She also now customises the meal plans to suit their budget, use what they have already from previous weeks, substitute vegetables for vegetables they already have leftovers from other meals from the week rather than buying more, and bump up meals with things like lentils and grated vegetables.

“I meal prep to avoid spending money on takeout etc and it has helped SO MUCH with our tight budget while we still recover from my partners loss of employment last year,” says Chloe.

Chloe meal preps dinners by cooking double batches at least 3-4 nights a week. She also preps snacks every second Monday when she does her food shopping and makes 40+ muffins, a dip, some yoghurt ice creams, and bliss balls.

“I choose things I can make in bulk and freeze. I will freeze things like muffins and slice by putting half in the freezer for the second week and keeping the rest in the fridge for the present week,” she says.

Chloe’s meal prep advice is keep it simple and choose 2-3 snacks to rotate through the week. If you like change then choose 2-3 different snacks the following week. Customise the meal plans to suit your needs is the biggest help to make your week easy.

Roasted Veggies with Haloumi & Zoodles, Southwest Chicken Salad, Beef Korma with Zoodles, Lemon Chicken with Veggies, One Pot Bolognese, Porcupine Meatballs, Cashew Satay Chicken, Chicken Tikka with Rice and Sweet Potato Tacos with Avocado Mayonnaise are constantly rotated on Chloe’s meal plans each month.

Advice

Chloe’s kids are now less fussy and try new things ALL the time!

They no longer ask for sugary treats and have become so much less hyperactive and more focused! They love helping Chloe in the kitchen and they love choosing meals with her when customising the meal plan.

Chloe says, “All round we are happier, more active and as a family and healthy eating is no longer a chore, it’s just a way of life for us now.”

Chloe says that The Healthy Mummy is a lifestyle, “I love we always get to eat as a family eating the same meal. I love that I don’t ever feel like I am missing out or depriving myself of food. If anything I eat more now than I did before the Healthy Mummy.”

“I am a better mum, partner, friend, daughter, because I have become a better version of ME!”
