These monikers were taken from the Queensland Registry of Births, Deaths and Marriages for  last year.

Charlotte and Oliver topped the list for most popular baby names also in 2015 and 2016.

“Princess Charlotte of Cambridge was born in May 2015, so this could be a sign that her name is continuing to be a popular choice,” says Attorney-General and Minister for Justice Yvette D’Ath.

“It is always interesting to see the change in trends when it comes to baby names.

“For example, the names James and Henry were among the top 10 in 2015, and dropped off the top 10 list in 2016, but appeared amongst the most popular again in 2017.

“It will be interesting to see where the baby name trends take us in 2018.”
