Healthy Turkey Cheese Burger under 400 cals!
Burgers don’t have to be off the menu when you’re following a healthy eating plan!
Here’s a recipe for a healthy alternative to a take-out burger. This Turkey Burger is delicious and healthy and filled with protein, fibre and calcium. But the best bit is, it’s so tasty you wouldn’t even realise it’s not from your local takeaway place.

- 250 g turkey mince
- 1 egg
- 1 tbsp. freshly chopped thyme leaves
- Salt and pepper
- 2 x 50 g wholegrain buns
- 2 slices tasty cheese
- Spinach leaves
- 2 thick slices of tomato
Ingredients

- Mix together the turkey mince, egg, thyme and salt and pepper. Shape into two patties.
- Grill the turkey burgers on either side until fully cooked through. Lay a slice of cheese onto each burger for the last 30 seconds of cooking.
- Slice the wholemeal bun through the middle, leaving it intact on at least one side. Serve the burger on the bun with the spinach and the tomato.

The Herbed Turkey Burger
The Lemon Pepper Chicken and Avocado Burger

Ingredients (Makes 1 servings)
- 1 tsp lemon zest (4 grams)
- pepper
- 80 grams chicken breast fillets
- cooking oil spray
- 1 wholegrain roll (80 grams)
- 1/8 medium avocado (15 grams)
- 1/2 cup mixed lettuce leaves (15 grams)
Method
- Sprinkle the chicken with lemon zest and a generous amount of pepper on each side.
- Lightly spray a frying pan with cooking oil spray over a medium-high heat. Add the chicken and cook for 4-5 minutes each side or until cooked through. Set aside to rest for a couple of minutes, then slice.
- Slice the roll(s) in half and spread one half per serve with avocado. Top with the cooked chicken, lettuce and remaining half of the roll(s) to serve. Another delicious chicken burger recipe!
