4. Have regular sex

According to many studies, having regular sex helps you look younger and live longer!

Researchers have found that sex can help boost your body’s ability to make protective antibodies and fight off viruses.

Here are 15 health benefits to having more sex.

5. Run five minutes a day

Got five minutes to spare? Grab your trainers and get out the door.

A new study has confirmed that just five minutes (that’s one episode of Peppa Pig in mum speak) of daily running can come with a multitude of health benefits.

However, another study (published in The Journal of the American College of Cardiology), confirms that quality matters when it comes to exercise. And doing less amount of more vigorous activities (such as running) can still reduce your risk of disease and increase lifespan.

6. Double your fruit and veg intake

Doubling the recommended amount of fruit and veggies you consume, from five portions to ten, can help you live longer, apparently.

Scientists from Imperial College London recently analysed 95 studies on fruit and vegetable intake from across the globe.

While they found that eating five portions of fruit and vegetables a day did reduce disease risk, the greatest benefit came from eating 10 portions.

7. Improve your social life

Want to be successful and live a long life? Then you should surround yourself with a circle of strong female pals.

A recent study claims that women with powerful women backing them are more likely to get executive positions with higher pay compared to those without close friends.

Girl power really is a thing!

8. Have a hot bath every day

A nice relaxing warm bath is a great way to lower stress. In fact, a study found that people who took had a bath every day had a 26% lower risk of stroke! Yep, really.

What’s more, a hot bath in the evening may also help you sleep better at night, as when your body gets out of the bath, your temperature drops and this helps the production of melatonin, the sleep hormone.

Are you a proud plant mamma? If that’s the case, then good news! Scientists claim you will live a longer and happier life.

According to a study by Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, women who have green fingers have a lower mortality rates and improved mental health.

It seems that women who look after plants experience more social interactions – possibly from sharing gardening advice and talking about plants with friends.

They also were more physically active – probably from the gardening, and experienced less exposure to air pollution – more plants equals good oxygen circulating in the house.
