How does it boost milk supply?

This smoothie contains three important ingredients to help boost milk supply.

  • Oats
  • Brewer’s yeast
  • Flaxseed

Oats are high in iron, and one of the reasons for decreased milk supply is often low iron levels. They’re also full of nutrients and fibre to help you stay nice and full. Brewer’s Yeast contains iron, protein and vitamin B,  selenium and chromium and is often recommended as a nutritional supplement during breastfeeding.  Flaxseed is high in omega-3 fatty acids (which are great for your little one) and it also contains phytoestrogens that can influence breast milk production.

The combination of banana, coconut and Healthy Mummy Smoothie mix totally disguises the bitter taste of the brewer’s yeast and the frozen banana combined with the oats and flaxseed give this lactation smoothie a thick and creamy texture.

The great news is that the Healthy Mummy Smoothie range are already breastfeeding friendly, and they are packed with vitamins and minerals which already support your milk supply.

By adding the extra oats, flaxseed and the Brewer’s yeast (it is available from health food shops – don’t skip this ingredient) you will be giving your body a boost that could help increase your milk supply for your little one.
