As tempting as it is to order takeout or let yourself slip into old habits, your future self will thank you for being proactive and beating the cold-weather blues.
If you’re looking for inspiration, this is it! We’ve set you some ACHIEVABLE and INSPIRING Mid-Years resolutions to make the most of The 28 Day Weight Loss Challenge this month.
Mid-Years Resolution Number One
Put pen to paper, and draw a big red circle around July 25th on your calendar. This marks the start of the August 28 Day Weight Loss Challenge, and the theme is “5 Main Ingredients.”
What does this mean for you? Budget-friendly meal plans with lots of delicious fresh food and pantry basics. All recipes are made up of 5 Main Ingredients … or LESS!
Goal: Customise your meal plan at the beginning of the challenge, and get cooking with 5 ingredients or less! Get the whole family involved!

Mid-Years Resolution Number Two
At the tail end of Winter, it’s easy to spend more time in our Ugg Boots than running shoes. But, with the cost of heating bills on our mind, a budget-friendly way to warm your body is… EXERCISE!

Mid-Years Resolution Number Three
Share your delicious creations! Whether it’s a post on your favourite social media platform, or into one of the many private support groups for Healthy Mummies just like you; a good meal is worth sharing!
Goal: Cook one of these insta-worthy meals and share a photo with friends!
Hearty Baked Chicken Spaghetti, available in the August 28 Day Weight Loss Challenge.
Drool-worthy Gluten-Free Zesty Lemon Pancakes
Prep: 5 Minutes
Cook: 15 Minutes
- 1 cup gluten-free plain flour 120g
- 2 tsp baking powder 5g
- 1/2 tsp salt 2.5g
- 1 cup unsweetened almond milk (or milk of choice) 250ml
- 2 tsp butter, melted 8g
- 1 large egg 50g
- 1 lemon, zest and juice 100g
- Cooking spray
- 2 tsp icing sugar 5g
Place dry ingredients into a bowl and mix together
Add milk, butter, egg and lemon zest and mix until well combined
Use cooking spray to lightly coat a frying pan
Heat over medium heat and cook until golden on each side, turning once
Serve pancakes with freshly squeezed lemon juice and a sprinkle of icing sugar over each pancake stack

Mid-Years Resolution Number Four
Write your own! Is there something you’ve been meaning to do all Winter, but just haven’t gotten around to it? Maybe you’d like to try Yoga or start walking the block with another Healthy Mummy friend. Whatever it is, there’s no better time than now!
Goal: Write my own Mid-Years resolution and do something FABULOUS in August.
