URGENT: Target issues recall of Target-branded sleep and activity trackers

Attention fitness fanatics or just people who like to track their steps.

Target Australia today has issued a recall on Target-branded sleep and fitness trackers due to “potential lack of insulation from charging contacts that may result in electrolytic action on skin surface. Regular use may expose the wearer to a risk of skin irritation/burn.”

Which trackers have been affected?

Model number IR159S which were sold between July 2017 and September 2018 are currently the only ones affected by the recall.

Where are the trackers sold?

The affected trackers were sold through Target Australia and Target Country stores as well as online at www.target.com.au.

What to do if you have an affected tracker?

The company advises that customers who think they may be affected “stop using the product and return the product to a Target or Target Country store as soon as possible, where our team members will provide you with a full refund. A receipt is not required to obtain a refund.”
