This mum is looking towards the future after losing her son to Group B Strep

Healthy Mummy Crystal Afitu defines strong, positive and optimistic! She shares her story on loss and looking forward.

“I gave birth to my beautiful son Mason James on March 31st this year, he later passed away the following day 1/4/18 due to contracting GBS (Group B Strep) in utero. We both were septic, I had an immune system to fight and survive, devastatingly he didn’t,” she said.

The Healthy Mummy community has helped Crystal and her family through this hard time.

crystalCrystal’s story

“It has been a very long 5 months and every day is unpredictable… I’m the heaviest I’ve been in many years & zero motivation to do anything about it…

I’m thankful to all the women on this page who also share their journeys, as scrolling through I’ve become more and more motivated each day…

Tomorrow is a new day, and a meal prep day… a day for me to start doing things for me…

Thank you to The Healthy Mummy team for providing women like me, having been through so much-regardless of the events, for providing easy to follow meals and exercise routines making our lives just that much easier- you have no idea- in the scheme of things, the positive effect this has on so many people.

So from one proud mumma to another- Thank you- and watch this space…. summer body coming at ya!”

Crystal also said The Healthy Mummy products and services have been a god send for their family.

Having the stress of what to cook everyday no longer there means Crystal can concentrate on other things.

Raising awareness of Group B Strep is something Crystal feels very strongly about and we are very glad to hear that we can help!
