Mum shares how she dropped 6 dress sizes in 9 months

This mum would tell herself that she didn’t eat that bad and the reason she was putting on weight was because of PCOS. Sick of making excuses, Teegan wanted to change so she joined the 28 Day Weight Loss Challenge.

Teegan has now lost almost 25kg and 6 dress sizes, from a 22 to a size 12!

“I have gained muscle strength and self pride I have learnt to truly smile once again,” Teegan says.

How Teegan dropped 6 dress sizes!

It all began after Teegan took her daughter to a family fun day.

“We got home I was looking forward to seeing the photos that I knew my husband had been taking of us, and it was that moment I realised how big I had let myself get it litterly hit me like a tonne of bricks, I could not believe that was me,” she recounts.

“I knew I was big but I didn’t realise how much bad choices had affected my life,” she adds. That night she started to look for something to help her and stumbled across The Healthy Mummy Facebook page.

“I spent that time educating myself on The Healthy Mummy lifestyle, there is so much helpful information all in the one place, and the biggest thing I have learnt is to take accountability for myself and to really look at what I could change to become a Healthy Mummy,” Teegan says.

On her Healthy Mummy journey for 9 months, Teegan has lost 6 dress sizes, gone from a size 22 now fitting into a size 12, and has lost almost 25kg!

9 months on…

Teegan now has a Healthy Mummy smoothie for breakfast every morning! “I swap between smoothies and recipes from the hub for my lunches and there’s always something yummy and exciting for snacks and dinner,” she says.

A fan of meal prepping, Teegan uses the Challenge app to make this as easy as possible.

“All the recipes are so easy to change and swap ingredients to suit my budget and family,” Teegan says.

Due to her PCOS Teegan watches her carb intake, and says her fitness level has improved so much so that she never thought she would have a workout room in her home!

“From the never ending support from the group I now workout for a minimum of half an hour every day. Something that I would have not pushed myself to do without the encouragement from the other Healthy Mummy members. With all the knowledge love and support I have been given amazing things have happened,” Teegan said.

Having learnt so much along the way not only about healthy choices but also about herself, Teegan really loves the support of the Healthy Mummy community.
