After revealing her plan for returning to the workplace after giving birth to her daughter, would be multitasking, Jacinda Arden has certainly stuck to her plan!
New Zealand’s Prime Minister took ‘taking your baby to work’, to the next level, think Japanese delegation and nappies!
She took 3 month old Neve Te Aroha, to the United Nations with her, making Arden the first female world leader to bring an infant to a meeting of the General Assembly! #coolmum
Have you bought your baby to work before?
Arden’s partner, Clarke Gayford, held their baby daughter while they proudly looked on and watched Arden speak. She then joined the two and Arden covered Neve in kisses and cuddles.
It can’t get any cuter right? Well, it just did!
Gayford then tweeted a photo of Neve’s ID badge to get into the UN and told a sweet and funny story to go with it.
Because everyone on twitter’s been asking to see Neve’s UN id, staff here whipped one up.
I wish I could have captured the startled look on a Japanese delegation inside UN yesterday who walked into a meeting room in the middle of a nappy change.
Great yarn for her 21st. pic.twitter.com/838BI96VYX— Clarke Gayford (@NZClarke) September 24, 2018
He captioned the image, “Because everyone on twitter’s been asking to see Neve’s UN id, staff here whipped one up. I wish I could have captured the startled look on a Japanese delegation inside UN yesterday who walked into a meeting room in the middle of a nappy change. Great yarn for her 21st.”
A bit different to other nappy changing stories right!?
Side note: Neve is called ‘New Zealand First Baby’, swoon!
Striving to help mums return to work, Arden said at a Unicef’s social good summit, “I have the ability to take my child to work, there’s not many places you can do that. I am not the gold standard for bringing up a child in this current environment because there are things about my circumstances that are not the same.
If I can do one thing, and that is change the way we think about these things, then I will pleased we have achieved something.”
Thank you for the concerned messages about how tired i look (fair call). Seems ‘someone’ is determined to maintain nzt. We’ve watched so much bad late night tv together that her mum came out at 2am and busted us watching cage fighting in our underpants. pic.twitter.com/sbzAmeyFbf
