Lisa Has Lost 36kg With The Healthy Mummy

The totally amazing and inspiring Lisa Hagarty has lost 36kgs in 9 months with the Healthy Mummy weight loss plans.

Today, Lisa shares her weight loss story on how she became a lighter, healthier and fitter mum of 2. And what is also fantastic, is that Lisa’s husband has joined in as well, losing a brilliant 12kgs.

Hi, my name is Lisa and I am very honoured to share my weight loss story with everyone after using The Healthy Mummy plans. I have learnt and gained so much over the last 9 months since I started the healthy mummy plans and I am looking forward to sharing this info, ideas and motivation with you.

So I am a mum of 2 little ones, a boy 3 ½ and a little girl who is now 17 months.

I think back to that day that first made me start looking for a program that would be able to help me lose weight. I had some really bad back problems, where I was so hunched over I could barely walk, my core was so weak it could not hold my weight so I could not stand up straight and my knees were killing me, so bad that I thought I would need a knee operation.I had to do something about my weight.

I wanted to find a program that I could use safely while breastfeeding my then 6 month old little girl, and that I could fit into my lifestyle of working and having kids. I loved the idea of everything that The Healthy Mummy had to offer, including the 28 Day Diet & Exercise Plan, the exercise routine and the Healthy Mummy Smoothies. It had everything that I wanted.

When I started the program I was morbidly obese weighing 124kgs, so heavy that I was actually not even on the BMI scale. I did only really light exercise and ate really unhealthily

I started off using the 28 Day Plan and I lost 3kgs in the first week, I was so happy. As I continued to use the program I was averaging about a 2kg a week weight loss for the first 5 weeks. Which is absolutely amazing. I now average about 2kgs of weight loss a month, which is completely fine as long as those scales continue to move.

I have completely changed my eating habits and have learnt so much about nutrition and all the “good” alternatives that I can use instead of using fatty and sugary foods in my cooking.

I also started by using all the exercises that the book suggested and I noticed a big improvement in the problems that I had in my back and my knees, and now they have pretty much gone.

I am now down to 88kgs, and just in the overweight category with a BMI of 29.7. Not only has it helped me to lose weight but my hubby has lost 12kgs also and he is now in the healthy weight range. I am so much happier knowing that now my family are eating so much healthier and nourishing foods.

I now vary my exercise routine up as I have realised that your body gets used to the exercise that you do if you do not change it up. I now try and do something different everyday, whether it is swimming, boxing, weights at the gym, jogging, bike riding, the Healthy Mummy Post Pregnancy Exercise DVD  (I love the cardio toning workout, and somehow it never gets easier), Zumba and Pilates.

I really encourage everyone to give these plans a go, as there is something in there for everyone  – for yourself, your family and to suit whatever food or exercise that you are into.

I also encourage you to try new things, like almond milk, coconut oil, and jogging (I never ever thought I could run before, now I am running 10km every Sunday). It is amazing what your body can learn to do and what it is capable of.

Also do not ever give up on your goal, there have been so many weeks along this journey that I have put on a 1kg or 2kg or remained the same weight for about a month, stuck in this never ending plateau but I just kept at it and then saw the results. I would also encourage people to take progress shots and your measurements, as your scales may not move but your body shape does.
