“I thought I’d carry my baby weight forever.” How this mum of 5 lost 15kg!

Wanting to lose her excess baby weight after her 5th son was 5 weeks old, Cheryl decided to start using The Healthy Mummy smoothies. She found success with this alone and then joined the 28 Day Weight Loss Challenge and subsequently lost 15kg.

“I had thought I’d carry my baby weight forever but at 40 I was back to my pre-baby weight,” she says.

The super mum has gone from 80kg at the birth of her son to now, 65kg!

How this mum of 5 lost 15kg

Discovering The Healthy Mummy after the birth of her 5th son in 2012, Cheryl knew she wanted this pregnancy to be different.

“After suffering from gestational diabetes while pregnant, my dad and uncle got diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. I didn’t want to follow that path,” she said.

“I found the smoothie perfect,” she says.

Once Cheryl started using the Healthy Mummy smoothies, it didn’t take her long to get to her goal weight. “Then my mum passed away from cancer and I fell back into bad habits of snacking,” she says.

By July 2017 Cheryl had put on 10kg. She says, “I also wanted to quit smoking and not put on weight so I turned to The Healthy Mummy smoothies again and joined the 28 Day Weight Loss Challenge.”

Cheryl completes 2-3 of the Challenge exercises a week and tries to get in 10,000 steps a day.

New healthy lifestyle

At 45 years of age, Cheryl has never been so healthy.

“I’m healthier, stronger and fitter than I was at 35, I’m proof that it’s never too late to change your lifestyle to be healthier,” she says.

With 5 fussy boys in the kitchen, Cheryl loves that the Challenge meals have enough flavour to not have to buy quick sauces, which are filled with hidden sugars.

“My kids like helping sometimes in the kitchen to cook and the meals are so easy that my husband can even follow the recipes!” Cheryl said.
