A delicious chocolatey treat that is great to include in your healthy pregnancy eating plan when one of those sweet cravings hits.
Rich, chocolate desserts are a common craving in pregnancy but can result in excessive weight gain, poor energy levels and uneven blood sugars if not moderated at any time, but especially in pregnancy.
The key ingredient in this mousse is banana which is high in Vitamin B6 and well know to improve energy, mood and also nausea. Bananas are also high in fibre, which is essential in pregnancy as bowels often become sluggish.
Occasionally, banana can contribute to constipation. If this is the case for you, replace ½ the banana with a handful of prunes, pureed with a small amount of boiling water if required.
