Elle Halliwell, the brave Aussie journo who captured our hearts by refusing to end her pregnancy when she was diagnosed with leukaemia, has given birth to a healthy baby boy.
A Healthy Baby Boy
The 31-year-old posted a photo of her newborn son’s gorgeous little feet to Instagram, with the words: ‘Welcome to the world’.
The Daily Telegraph reports that Tor Felix Biasotto was born on Tuesday at 36 weeks, weighing in at 3.1kgs. The new mum will now begin chemotherapy, telling News Corp, “It will be in the next couple of days, sooner than we thought.
“We were going to have a bit of time before (I started) but my levels have gone up a bit so they (doctors) are a bit more concerned than they were. And that is why we had to have him at 36 weeks on the dot and not 37 so that I could start the treatment as soon as possible.”

Earlier this year Elle explained that she and her husband Nick were going to try for a baby. They undertook routine tests to check her folate and vitamin D levels.
That’s when it was discovered she had chronic myeloid leukaemia. Only a few hours after this heartbreaking news, Elle found out she was already pregnant.
Mum To Start Chemo
She refused to undergo chemotherapy until she had her baby, instead using alternative treatment.
“Now the next challenge begins, I start my TKI (tyrosine kinase inhibitor) drugs and we don’t know how that is going to make me feel. But I am feeling pretty positive and I have got a lot to be happy and healthy for,” she said.
“I am healthy otherwise, that has been my saving grace. I am pretty nervous but this (Tor) is so much bigger than that to me. I reckon I’ll beat the odds again, I’ll be the cancer unicorn. I will be okay. It is just getting into the habit of it all.”
We know you’ve got this Elle and all the best from the Healthy Mummy team and enjoy those newborn snuggles!
