Kelly Rowland Gets Real About Her Post-Pregnancy Body In A Candid Interview

Former Destiny’s Child singer Kelly Rowland has got candid about her body after giving birth.

In an interview with USA Today, Kelly – who welcomed her son Titan in 2014, with her husband Tim Witherspoon – reveals she wishes she’d never taken a mirror to look at her lady parts after giving birth.

“Your vajayjay does not look the same for a very long time,” she said.

“We go to get it all done up and trimmed and waxed and this and that and it’s all swollen and crazy and you’re just wondering, what just happened?”

Kelly, 36, says it’s hard for her to not compare her body now to what it was like before.

“I just saw a cover that I did for Shape and then I’m looking in the mirror going, ‘Oh, my god this is not the same body. How did this happen?’” she said.

“And, I had to just keep reminding myself that, ‘You had a baby, Kel.’ But I was hard on myself. I really was.”

Kelly has teamed up with Dr. Tristan Bickman and author Laura Moser for their new book, Whoa, Baby!: A Guide for New Moms Who Feel Overwhelmed and Freaked Out.

However, the Kelly says despite all the changes she’s experienced, she “loved every second” of pregnancy.

“After what felt like a lifetime of monitoring my diet, I could finally eat whatever I wanted and not worry about it!” she says.

“Throughout my pregnancy but even more so afterward, Dr. B. made me feel like what was happening to my body was completely natural, no matter how nasty or scary: the Frisbee boobs, the stretched-out vag, the clumps of hair falling out every morning.”

Haha, we know what you’re talking about Kelly – but you’re right, it is totally naturally for some women to feel a bit different after giving birth.

Just as every pregnancy and baby is different, so too is every post-baby body. Remember to be kind to yourself and don’t rush, love your body just as your children do.
