Serena Williams missed this ‘first’ of her baby daughters and parents are relating

The firsts’. First words, first steps, first laugh and even first tantrum. A parent does not want to miss them and if they do, some mums say they can get a bout of mum guilt.

Serena Williams, even though a superstar tennis player and world champion, she’s a first time mum and feels exactly how other mums do.

We saw this to be true when she tweeted she’d missed her baby daughters first steps and cried, mums around the world reached out.

Serena Williams is just like any first time mum

Serena and her fiancé, Alexis Ohanian, welcomed their now 10-month-old daughter Alexis Olympia in September 2017 and the cutie has been a regular fixture on Williams Instagram since.

The busy mums was training for Wimbledon (as you do), when she revealed her daughter had taken her first steps and she shamed herself for it!

 

Parents reached out to her tweet and showed their support, exchanged similar stories and made sure Williams didn’t feel guilty or alone. How lovely!

One reply said, “She missed you winning 23 grand slam titles but will still know you’re the best tennis player of all time. You’ll have thousands of magic moments with her don’t worry!”

Very true!
