URGENT RECALL: MORE Kinder chocolate items have been recalled due to salmonella contamination

URGENT! More Kinder chocolate products have been recalled from Coles, Woolworths, Target, Kmart, Big W and independent food retailers, including IGA.

The major recall is down to these items potentially being contaminated with salmonella, which is a major blow to manufacturers just ahead of Easter.

Initially, an alert went out to pull some batches over the weekend, but now more items have been recalled…

“The recall is due to potential microbial (Salmonella) contamination,” Food Standards Australia advised.

“Food products contaminated with Salmonella may cause illness if consumed.

“Consumers should not eat this product and should return the products to the place of purchase for a full refund. Any consumers concerned about their health should seek medical advice.”

Little girl hospitalised in UK after eating Kinder egg

This recall comes after a young girl in the UK has been hospitalised after eating a Kinder Easter egg.

Little Miley fell ill after eating a Kinder egg, and her mother was unaware of what was causing the illness.

“She hadn’t kept any fluids down, she was being quite violently sick,” her mother said.

“She was getting a lot of pain in her stomach and we literally put her in the car and took her straight to hospital.”

Alarmingly, more than 100 people from around the world have become sick with salmonella poisoning after eating the Kinder Surprise chocolates.
