Royal baby name predictions

Unlike Kate and William, Meghan and Harry have a bit more free reign when it comes to choosing a name for their child as it is unlikely their children will be princes’ or princess’.

We think they will still choose another semi-formal name much like Archie and here are our top picks!

Baby Girl predictions

1. Diana

An obvious choice perhaps to use the name of Prince Harry’s late mother Diana, Princess of Wales in a bid to continue her legacy.

2. Olivia

As the number one searched for baby name, Olivia has occurred in England as early as the thirteenth century.

3. Sophia

Sophia or Sofia is of both English and American culture so is a good combination for both Harry and Meghan. Sophia is also the number one girl’s name in the world.

4. Grace

Grace Kelly was an American actress who became a Princess of Monaco after she married Prince Rainier III. Does this story sound familiar?

5. Isabella

Going way back, England, France, Portugal, and Hungary all had royal Isabellas in their courts.

6. Alexandra

Queen Elizabeth’s great grandmother and if the couple like the name Alexander this is the girl version.

7. Elizabeth

Bookmakers are predicting this name as a strong contender and they could well name their daughter after the monarch herself.

8. Kamala

A less traditional name, but would be seen as a nod to new US Vice President Kamala Harris.

9. Lily

Lilibet was the late Prince Philip’s nickname for the Queen, so the name Lily as a shortened version would be seen as a tribute to Harry’s grandparents.

10. May

An English name derived from the month, May is also used as a pet form of  Mary (The Queen’s grandmother) and Margaret (The Queen’s sister).
