Royal baby name predictions
Unlike Kate and William, Meghan and Harry have a bit more free reign when it comes to choosing a name for their child as it is unlikely their children will be princes’ or princess’.
We think they will still choose a semi-formal name and here are our top picks!
Girls predictions
1. Olivia
As the number one searched for baby name of 2018, Olivia has occurred in England as early as the thirteenth century.
2. Sophia
Sophia or Sofia is of both English and American culture so is a good combination for both Harry and Meghan. Sophia is also the number one girl’s name in the world.
3. Grace
Grace Kelly was an American actress who became a Princess of Monaco after she married Prince Rainier III. Does this story sound familiar?
4. Isabella
Going way back, England, France, Portugal, and Hungary all had royal Isabellas in their courts.
5. Alexandra
Queen Elizabeth’s great grandmother and if the couple like the name Alexander this is the girl version.
Boy predictions
1. Oliver
Oliver is currently the top boys’ name in Australia and the UK, must be a Commonwealth trend that we think Harry and Meghan may jump on.
2. Byron
After the poet Lord Byron, this name is exceptionally British yet modern and appeared on our list of English baby names.
3. Spencer
As Princess Diana’s maiden name, Spencer will be a lovely nod to Harry’s late mother.
4. Philip
This name would honour the close relationship Harry has with his grandfather, the Duke of Edinburgh.
5. Albert
An English name meaning noble, Albert has strong royal ties as Prince Albert was married to Queen Victoria (a great love story, like Meghan and Harry).
