Target product recall: 13 products or product lines have been recalled in 6 months

Target Australia’s about section reads “Making fashion, style & quality affordable for the whole family every day!”

But in the last six months since August 2018 the company has issued 13 product recalls for products varying from electrical items, babywear or men’s thongs.

So what has Target Australia recalled?

RECALLED: Target Active Step Machine

Recall issued 5 February 2019

Product details:

Target Active Step Machine Keycode 60505385 sold at Target, Target Country and www.target.com.au from April 2018 until January 2019.

Recall reason:

Components have not been manufactured in accordance with Target’s safety and quality standards and there is a risk the stepper may break during use, which could result in a serious injury.

What to do if you have this product:

Target Australia advises customers to cease use of the product immediately and return it to your local Target or Target Country store where a staff member will assist with a full refund.

RECALLED: Target TARHB40S Stick Blender

Recall issued 1 February 2019.

Product details:

Target TARHB40S Stick Blender Keycode 55000727 sold at Target, Target Country and www.target.com.au from January 2014 until December 2018.

Recall reason:

The product may overheat during use and cause the plastic enclosure to melt, and expose live parts which have the risk of causing burns and electric shock.

The Fabulous Food Company Candy Cane 40g Keycode 59595465 sold at Target, Target Country and www.target.com.au from 16 September 2018 until 17 January 2019 inclusive with best before of August 2019.

Recall reason:

The recall is due to the potential presence of plastic which may cause illness or injury if consumed.

Recall reason:

The recall is due to the potential presence of glass fragments which if consumed could cause illness or injury.

RECALLED: Target organic coveralls (seven garments affected)

Recall issued 20 December 2018.

Product details:

Target organic baby coveralls (seven garments affected) including all sizes ranging from tiny baby to 18-24 months sold at Target, Target Country and www.target.com.au from May 2018 until December 2018 inclusive. Styles affected are Organic coverall/bib/hat set, stripe colour, style number: S18 NB147950 and Organic zip coveralls, style number: S18 NB148008 includes six prints: cars, bunny, dino, breakfast, rocking horse and sea creatures. Recall reason:

The zip puller may detach near foot due to a manufacturing issue that may pose a choking or ingestion risk to infants if zip detaches.

Navy/Orange coloured keycodes and sizes affected: size 6 keycode 6041019, size 7 keycode 60451029, size 8 keycode 60451033, size 9 keycode 60451040, size 10 keycode 60451057, size 11 keycode 60451064, size 12 keycode 60451071 and size 13 keycode 60451088. Recall reason:

Product details:

Bellini Pressure Cooker Model BTPRC250 Keycode 57444178 sold at Target, Target Country and www.target.com.au from October 2015 until June 2017 inclusive.

Recall reason:

The lid can become loose under pressure this can create a risk of scalding or burns from food being released from the cooker.

RECALLED: 2PK Long Multi-Purpose Latches and Safty Essential Kit

Recall issued 15 August 2018.

Product details:

2PK Long Multi-Purpose Latches Keycode 61488977 and Safety Essential Kit Keycode 61288836 sold at Target Australia and Target Country stores from July 2018 until August 2018.

Recall reason:

The plastic multi-purpose latch may fail to hold cupboard doors and drawers closed if a cupboard door or drawer unexpectedly opened it may expose a young child to a safety risk.
